The theme of my Fall 2009 collection was Paris at the turn of the century. The Belle Epoche ("The Beautiful Era") was the period of the European social history that began at the ned of the 19th century and lasted up until World War I... as artists and writers looked back wistfully at the romance of a fading world about to disappear, and rapidly hurling into an unknown future that they would eventually refer to as "Modern".~ ANNA SUI FALL 2009
I love the rich dark colours in plums and violets and ultramarine in a riot of print. Sui used velvet, chiffon and silk to compound the feeling of opulence and variety. If I could wear one of her creations, I'd probably pick the center of the last group. Which one is your favourite?
