loving jumpsuits

Jumpsuits are getting my attention at Polyvore. They create a feeling of boldness and glamour. But these little darlings can be a bit tricky. You will have to look for a jumpsuit style that will suit your figure or at least know how to carry them with grace.

My polyvore set below creates a fab look that's heading out to a fancy beach hotel resort. A two-piece swimsuit peeks out a bit from the jumpsuit while a vintage print tote bag takes the classic look of it.

This Blue Asphalt jumpsuit is a great casual look to add in your closet. Not too fancy and won't go out of style for a long time. And don't you just love the quilted leather ballerina flats that go with it? Casually fashionable.

Goodbye old jeans, Hello kickass shorts

Craving for a good pair of faded denim shorts but just couldn't find one? Why not make one? You just need an old pair of jeans that's no longer in your favourite list, a pair of scissors, and bleaching liquid.

Showing the big difference: from the original dark jeans to the faded cool.
1. Cut off the legs of your old jeans (mine's an old ukay-ukay) according to your desired length. Try them on. If it feels good then it's ready for the bleach soaking to achieve that cool faded wash.

2. Pour enough water into the basin, so the denim is totally submerged in water. Add bleach depending on how faded you want it. (I wanted it to be super faded so I poured the whole bottle into the basin.)

3. Soak for an hour or again, depending on what result you desire. (I soaked it overnight!) Be sure to flip the denim once in awhile to balance out the effect of the bleach.

4. Rinse, wash, let it dry.

Tadaaa! Goodbye old jeans, hello kickass shorts!

Polyvore Madness.

Polyvore.com is my stress-releaser, idle-time on the internet. It makes me feel good, bringing back childhood fondness of creating my own paper dolls and letting out the fashion designer wannabe in me. It's crazy. It's highly addictive.

Create your own sets - fashion, interior or collaging designs - by mixing and matching images from anywhere on the web with their friendly drag and drop editor. After you have created a set, you can publish and share it with your friends and the Polyvore community.

Polyvore offers an unprecedented level of direct engagement with real products and brands, while its social features make it a powerful platform for the creation and distribution of user-generated advertising.

Presenting to you my first Polyvore set :)

mixing bracelets

I am very particular with bracelets. It's the first thing I notice when somebody walks in the room if she's ever wearing one. Like any other fashionable item I wear, it has to depend on the mood I'm in: lazy or lucky or sunny.

I love to combine and mix bracelets. This three bracelet combination is on top of my list these days. I think it's a refined, laid back hippie mood. The blue marble one (is actually a necklace which I had to fix and replace the hook using only a nipper!) and the vintage bangle were from my Momsie's (my grandmother) treasure box. The third one which has a lovely mix of charms and beads I got from Monsoon, Accessorize one of my favourite shops in Dubai.

The Garden of Style

I will build a garden where I can share my thoughts on anything that speaks style: in a household, in a little bit of geek gadget squeek, in illustration and graphic trends, but mostly in playing everyday dress-up or when it's time to go gaga with Polyvore.

This is my first seed of thought:

If I do this, build a humble garden of style, will people come often to see how things are doing around here while enjoying a peppermint tea? Or will they come back to see how more they are annoyed everytime? Will my garden be too interesting or disgusting that I have a pretty good number of followers? I would love to have all sorts of opinion that might agree or create violent reactions among blog hoppers. That sounds like super fun.

Welcome. Enjoy the freshness.
